What the rate includes

What moves the price
Length. Three days or more takes about 15% off the daily rate; a week close to 30%. A weekend is almost always better value as three days than as two. Dates. Spring break in March, spring training, the Jazz Holiday in October and the holiday weeks are booked weeks ahead and we do not discount them; midweek in summer is often available at short notice. The car. The Lamborghini, Ferrari and McLaren carry a $5,000 hold; the Corvette and the BMWs $1,500 to $3,000. The hold is refundable, but it has to be on the card.
The four costs people forget
- Fuel. The car arrives full and comes back full, or we refuel it at the pump price plus a service fee.
- Tolls. The Courtney Campbell is free; the Skyway and the Veterans Expressway are not. SunPass is on the car and the tolls are billed after.
- Mileage. A day on Gulf Boulevard fits the allowance; a day trip to Orlando does not. Say so when you book and we price it, which is always cheaper than overage.
- The hold. Not a cost, but it has to fit on the card alongside the hotel and the trip.
Requirements
You must be 21 or older with a valid driver's licence, proof of full-coverage insurance that extends to a vehicle of this value, and a major credit card in your own name. International licences are accepted with a passport. A refundable security hold is placed on the card at handover and released after the car is returned and inspected; the figure depends on the car and is confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
