Looking to book rather than read? See exotic car rental in St. Petersburg for the live fleet, daily rates and delivery.
For one weekend in early March the streets around the St. Pete waterfront, Albert Whitted Airport and the Dalí become a race track, and the city fills. It is the busiest weekend we have in St. Petersburg and the one where the right car disappears a month out. This is what gets booked, when to reserve, and how delivery works when half of downtown is closed.
Which cars go first
The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder is gone first every year: it is the car people want on Beach Drive on the Friday night and outside the Vinoy on the Saturday. The Porsche 911 GT3 goes second, to drivers who want the Skyway at seven on Sunday morning before the circuit opens. The Ferrari Roma and the 812 follow, then the Urus for groups. The Corvette C8 and the BMW M4 stay available longest, which makes them the smart late booking.
When to reserve
- Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren: four to six weeks ahead. There is one of each.
- Porsche, Corvette, BMW M, Mercedes-AMG: two to three weeks.
- Chauffeured Rolls-Royce or Maybach for the paddock-club arrival: three weeks, because the driver is booked with the car.
A three-day booking from Friday to Sunday takes about 15% off the daily rate and is the shape of most race-weekend rentals.

Delivery during the road closures
The circuit closes the waterfront streets from the Thursday to the Sunday night, with the perimeter running roughly from Bayshore Drive to 1st Street and from the airport north past the Pier approach. The Vinoy and the hotels along Beach Drive sit on the edge of it; we deliver to them via the open side the day before the closures start, which is the sensible plan anyway. Addresses in the Old Northeast, Snell Isle, Kenwood and the Edge District are reachable all weekend. If you are staying inside the perimeter, we agree a handover point on the nearest open street the day before and walk you to the car. On the Sunday night the roads reopen by late evening and the return can be at the hotel.
Where to drive it when the circuit is busy
Everyone is downtown, so the roads are elsewhere: the Sunshine Skyway at sunrise, the Pinellas Bayway to Fort De Soto, Gulf Boulevard from Pass-a-Grille up through Treasure Island, and Snell Isle Boulevard in the evening when the grandstands empty. All of it is inside a day's mileage allowance, and the car is back for dinner on Central Avenue.
Requirements
You must be 21 or older with a valid driver's licence, proof of full-coverage insurance that extends to a vehicle of this value, and a major credit card in your own name. International licences are accepted with a passport. A refundable security hold is placed on the card at handover and released after the car is returned and inspected; the figure depends on the car and is confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
Frequently asked questions
When should I book an exotic car for the St. Pete Grand Prix?
Four to six weeks ahead for a Lamborghini, Ferrari or McLaren; two to three for a Porsche, Corvette or BMW M. There is one of each car and race weekend is the busiest weekend of the St. Pete year.
Can you deliver downtown during the race closures?
Yes, to the hotels outside the circuit perimeter and to addresses in the Old Northeast, Snell Isle and the Edge District. Inside the perimeter we hand over at the nearest open street, agreed the day before.
Which car is best for race weekend?
The Huracán EVO Spyder is the one people want on Beach Drive on the Friday night; the 911 GT3 is the one drivers want for the Skyway on the Sunday morning before the race. For a group, the Urus or the Escalade.
What does it cost?
From $399 a day for the Corvette C8 to $1,200 for the Huracán EVO Spyder, delivery and insurance included; three days or more takes about 15% off, which covers most race-weekend bookings.
