Austin at night is compact, which is good, and has nowhere to put a car, which is not. Here is how to do it without the evening turning into a parking problem.
Moody Center
On the UT campus, which means the garages around it are university garages and they fill fast on an event night. The practical move is to park in one of the downtown garages on Brazos or Colorado and take the ten-minute ride up, rather than circling San Jacinto for half an hour.
Rainey Street
Valet, or do not drive. Rainey is a street of converted bungalows with almost no parking and a lot of pedestrians. Several of the bars share valet stands, and with a car worth six figures that is the only sensible option.
South Congress
Easier. The hotels along SoCo have valet, the restaurants mostly have lots behind them, and the street itself is where people walk specifically to look at things. If the point of the evening is being seen in the car, this is the street.
Which car for a night out
Something you are comfortable handing to a valet and something that fits in a garage. The G63, the Ferrari Roma and the Huracán all work. The Cullinan is magnificent and genuinely does not fit in some of the older downtown garages, so check first.
The sensible version
Take the car for the arrival and the photographs, leave it with the hotel valet, and use a rideshare for the rest of the night. It costs nothing extra, it removes the drink question entirely, and the car is outside the hotel in the morning for the Hill Country drive, which is the better use of it anyway.

Will a Cullinan fit in a downtown Austin garage?
In most, but not all. Several of the older downtown garages are low. If you want the Cullinan and you are parking downtown, check the garage height first or use valet.
Can I keep the car overnight at my hotel?
Yes. Most clients take the car for the arrival, leave it with the valet and use a rideshare for the evening, then take it out to the Hill Country the next morning.
