For the Rolex 24 at Daytona in late January we deliver exotic and luxury cars to your hotel, condo or house the day before you arrive, or curbside at Daytona Beach International (DAB). The cars are our Orlando fleet, an hour down I-4, at the Orlando price: from $229 a day, with the Porsche 911 GT3 ($799), the Huracán Tecnica ($1,500) and the McLaren ($1,195) the cars this week is made for. Call or text (407) 342-4490 with your dates.
This page covers the endurance race; for the rest of the year and the full delivery area, start at exotic car rental Daytona Beach.
The race for people who know cars
The Rolex 24 is the round-the-clock endurance race that opens the IMSA sports car season at Daytona International Speedway: prototypes and GT cars sharing the road course and the banking, through the night and into the next afternoon, with driver changes, pit stops and strategy instead of a single sprint. It draws a different crowd from the Daytona 500. The people in the paddock and the grandstands tend to know exactly what they are looking at, many of them drive sports cars at home, and a good number fly in from colder places for a January weekend in Florida. That is why the cars that get booked for this week are not always the loudest ones; they are the ones the crowd recognises.
The cars the Rolex crowd books
- The 911 GT3 ($799): the obvious one, a road car built around the same idea as the GT cars on track. See the Porsche page for the Targa and the rest.
- The Huracán Tecnica ($1,500): the most driver-focused Lamborghini we have; the Lamborghini page lists the Spyders and the Urus.
- The McLaren ($1,195) from the McLaren page, and the Ferrari 296 ($2,000) from the Ferrari page, for the people who want the hybrid technology that racing has brought to the road.
- The Lotus Emira ($549): the enthusiast’s pick, mid-engined and built for driving.
- The Corvette C8 ($399): the American mid-engine car, and the best value on the list; the Corvette page has all of them.
- The G63 ($899) or the Escalade ($350) for a group that wants one car for the weekend.
A 24-hour race and your car
A race that runs through the night changes how you use a rental. Most people do not stay in the grandstands for all twenty-four hours: they watch the start, go back to the hotel, come back after dark for the lights and the sound of the night stint, sleep a few hours and return for the morning and the finish. That is three or four trips between the beach and the Speedway in a day and a half, which is the strongest argument for a car you enjoy driving and for staying somewhere with an easy route to International Speedway Boulevard. Port Orange and Ormond Beach are both good bases; the Port Orange and Ormond Beach pages explain why. The Daytona Beach Shores condos work too, over the Dunlawton bridge to I-95.
January in Daytona
Late January on this coast is cool by Florida standards and often excellent for driving: clear mornings, mild afternoons, chilly evenings. A convertible still makes sense in the day, so bring a jacket for the night session. The weekend of the race is busy around the Speedway and One Daytona, but the beachside is calmer than in February and March, and A1A and the Ormond Scenic Loop are about as empty as they get. If you have an extra day, drive the Loop on the Monday morning; it is the best way to end a race weekend.
Flying in for the race
DAB sits next to the Speedway, which makes it the obvious airport for this weekend; we meet you at the arrivals curb with the car and your flight tracked. Orlando (MCO) has more flights, and we deliver there too: you drive the hour to Daytona on I-4. One-way between Orlando and Daytona is inside normal use. For February, the Daytona 500 and Speedweeks, and for Bike Week in March, see the Daytona 500 and Bike Week page.
Cars available for the Rolex 24, by brand
Prices are per day and are the Orlando prices, because these are the Orlando cars, an hour down I-4 from Daytona. Three days or more take about 15% off and a week close to 30%. Every rate includes delivery and collection in the Daytona Beach area, curbside service at DAB, insurance on the vehicle, roadside assistance and a daily mileage allowance. The whole list is on the Orlando fleet.
Requirements and deposit
21 or older (25 for the Lamborghinis, the Ferraris, the McLaren and the Rolls-Royce), a valid driver’s licence, proof of full-coverage insurance that extends to a vehicle of this value and a major credit card in your own name. International licences are accepted with a passport. The deposit is a refundable hold on the card, taken before delivery and released after the return inspection; the amount depends on the car and is confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
Frequently asked questions about Rolex 24 car rental
When is the Rolex 24 at Daytona?
Every year in late January, at Daytona International Speedway, as the opening round of the IMSA sports car season. Check the official schedule for this year's dates, then send us yours: we deliver the day before you arrive.
How early should I book a car for the Rolex 24?
Two to three weeks for the sports cars that people in the paddock ask for (the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3, the Huracán Tecnica, the Emira) and the G63. It is a calmer week than the Daytona 500 but the right cars still go early.
Do you deliver to the Speedway during the race?
We deliver to your hotel, condo or house the day before, or curbside at DAB. We do not hand over inside the Speedway lots during the event.
Can I drive the car on the Speedway road course?
No. That is a track-day product we do not offer. The roads around Daytona, A1A, the Ormond Scenic Loop and the drive to Orlando, are the ones covered by the mileage allowance.
Are prices higher during the Rolex 24?
No. The published Orlando price is the price all year, from $229 a day; what changes is availability.
